Better BACKGROUND for Microsoft Documentation

We hav white backgrond for our doc........... as default... but v can hav a blue also.... lets c how

1.) Open a Word Document by going to Start, All Programs, Microsoft Word.

2.) From the menu bar, click Tools.

3.) Select Options from the drop down menu.

4.) The Options dialogue box will open. Select the General tab.



5.) Now you will find a check box that says "Blue background, white text." Click to select it so that you have a tick mark on the box.


6.) Click OK to save the changes and to close the options dialogue box.


Now, go back to your Word document. See the difference

Yes, now it has a blue background and when you type, the text will be all white. Try this for a few days and you should see a drastic change on the eye strain you've been experiencing

How to create folder named CON

Well anyone who knows lil bout computers must b knowin dat, v cannot make a folder or rename a folder named "con". Microsoft initially also had no answer to this question, but later they found out the reason

Well here's da reason :

"CON is described as console. It is hardware name in DOS and windows operating systems. In DOS and windows operating system some hardware specific name can not be used as file name or folder names. The CON is referred to the combination of Key board and Monitor and is called Console. We can use the CON to create the text files. CON is not the only name, which is not supported. There some other keywords that can’t be used as file name or the folder name. They are NUL, PRN, AUX, CLOCK$, COM0, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT0, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, and LPT9.All the above mentioned are the computer parts name. For example PRN refers as Printer, COM refers to communication ports. Whenever we will try to include theses characters in our file name or the folder name, we will get a warning message. We must follow these rules while naming the file, otherwise we can not save the data in file."

You can try it out urself, try creating a folder named "con". You wont be able to create it.

But if we want we can defy the people at microsoft
Here's wat u hav to do to defy them or rather create a folder named "con"

Right Click On Desktop > Create New Folder > Type con, And At The End Type "alt+0160" Without Quotes !

*Remember : The Numbers You Press Must Be From The Number Pad !

How data can be stored in bacteria ?

Normally whenever you think of data storage, the choices that would come to your mind are Hard Disks, flash drives, CD/DVD etc . However the researchers in Japan don’t think that way . The see something that is very much smaller and much more durable – Bacteria , yeah I am talking about those microscopic organisms which you studied about in your Biology class.

The concept behind

Japanese researchers are developing methods to store the data in Bacteria . According to Keio University professor Masaru Tomita who heads the team of researchers , the four characters - T , C , A , G that represents the genetic coding in DNA works much like digital data . Character combinations can stand for specific letters and symbols — so codes in genomes can be translated, or read, to produce music, text, video and other content.

What can be the advantage

And the good think is that information will be available as long the species stays alive – possible a million years . The team has successfully inserted into a common bacterium Albert Einstein’s Famous ‘E equals MC square’ equation . But mutation could distort stored data, Tomita says data are stored in four places in the bacteria so the data stay intact .

So imagine if this thing becomes possible , data storage will become so cheap as bacteria are all around us , you just need to catch one . And if you are lucky you might catch a bacteria which was lost by someone else and could contain movies etc.

How to add safe mode to your boot list in Windows XP

Safe mode is required when you have to fix a problem such as virus infection or uninstalling drivers in yourwindows XP.Generally we need to use F8 Key to get into safe mode and if not timed properly you will need to restart windows xp again. Here is a small trick which lets you add Safe mode by default into your Boot list. You will see it when you restart your windows xp machine

Steps to Add Safe Mode in Boot list

• Go to control panel > System.
• Click on Advanced Tab.
• Then click on settings under the startup and recovery action.
• Click on edit under system startup to indirectly edit your boot.ini file.

• Add the following entry “multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS=”XP - Safe Mode” /fastdetect /safeboot:minimal /sos /bootlog” without quotes.

Thats it, restart your machine and you will see another label as “XP- Safe Mode” added to the list.
