How to Increase System Performance

If you like to speed up your Windows XP operating system and if you have 512 Mb or more of memory, you can increase system performance by following few steps. Speeding improvement can be done by having the core system kept in memory.
  1. Start Regedit
  2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\DisablePagingExecutive
  3. Set the value to be 1
  4. Reboot the computer

Enable Numlock On by Default

If you are reading this post on ypur system, then you all surely must be knowing what is NUMERIC KEYPAD and what the NUMLOCK button does. Now by default the NUMLOCK IS off and we have to manually press it to activate the NUMERIC KEYPAD. Now here's a simple tweak to enable your NUMLOCK on by default.
Just follow the steps:-

For all users :-
  1. Start Regedit
  2. HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Keyboard\InitialKeyboardIndicators
  3. Change the value from 0 to 2
For Current user:-

  1. Start Regedit
  2. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Keyboard\InitialKeyboardIndicators
  3. Change the value from 0 to 2
Thats's it, now after startup you will find your Numlock on.
